The lavender is thriving! I think I will dry the flowers out and place them in little cotton bags (maybe made out of hankeys?) to snuggle with my dresses in the clothes room.
I have been making little hand embroidered badges (with and without tassels) and patches for my partner Matthew's band Lion Island. myspace.com/lionisland
made about 6 months ago out of gifted vintage batik print fabric samples and 2 small brass bells. Repeated last week for a friend's 10 yr old daughter!
I am a doll and clothing maker, based in Brisbane, Australia. In 2010 I completed my honours year through the Fashion discipline of Queensland University of Technology. My project “Making Dolls and Heart Connections” explored that occasionally uncomfortable, heartfelt place, where comfort, the doll form, scale, and hand-worked cloth intersect.
Currently I work as a costume maker for Queensland Ballet.
